Palms Educare is a childcare centre in Browns Bay, Auckland, for children aged 6 months to 6 years. Our programme is guided by Te Whāriki and influenced by respectful Pikler-informed care. We provide a calm, nurturing early learning environment where children feel safe, connected, and free to explore through play, relationships, and everyday care moments.

We provide love, care and kindness for every precious little heart that comes through our door. A safe haven for your child where imagination, play and creativity is fostered in a beautiful and authentic environment.
We believe children learn best through secure relationships, unhurried interactions, and meaningful play. Our environment supports belonging, creativity, curiosity, and confidence as children grow and learn at their own pace.

We are open from 7am – 6pm, Monday to Friday
We care for children aged between 6 months - 6 years
We offer 20 hours Early Childhood Education per week for children aged 3 to 6 yeaRs

Our approach to early learning:

Our curriculum is guided by Te Whāriki. We value belonging, wellbeing, communication, contribution, and exploration. Daily care moments, play, and relationships are all part of children’s learning.

Our environment is designed to meet tamariki’s physical, emotional, social, and developmental need; fostering unhurried spaces where strong, respectful relationships and thoughtful moments are built through trust, connection and shared experiences.

As educated professionals, we understand how tamariki learn and strive to create calm, collaborative, and harmonious learning spaces; reflecting our commitment to Te Tiriti and our multicultural community- both within the centre and beyond. Through our play-based curriculum, our tamariki have the freedom to explore, be adventurous and take risks; sparking their curiosity and sense of wonder of the world around them.

In our infant room, we focus on building strong, trusting, and secure relationships with each child. Through warm, unhurried interactions, infants are supported to feel safe, loved, and secure as they begin to explore and learn. Daily care moments, such as mealtimes and routines, provide gentle opportunities for children to start developing patience and learning to wait for their turn. We also support infants to begin making simple choices, nurturing their confidence and growing sense of self.

Toddlers

In our toddler room, we support children as they begin to understand their emotions and develop self-regulation. Through warm and respectful interactions, teachers guide children to express their feelings, take turns, and build positive relationships with others. Imaginative play is an important part of our environment, supporting children’s creativity, curiosity, and social development. Within a safe and emotionally secure space, children are encouraged to explore, make choices, and develop growing independence and self-help skills.

In our preschool room, we focus on supporting children’s growing independence, confidence, and leadership. Children are encouraged to build respectful relationships with their peers, collaborate with others, and take responsibility in their learning environment. Early literacy experiences are naturally woven into our daily programme as children begin preparing for their transition to school.
Regular excursions help children connect with the wider community and broaden their understanding of the world around them. Through our discovery and planning programme, children engage in more in-depth projects that support imaginative play, creativity, curiosity, team work and problem-solving. We aim to nurture confident and competent learners as they move towards the next stage of their learning journey.
